Establishment

The entrepreneur J. A. Siegel began with the manufacture of wooden folding rules. The nearby forests of the Pohorje area provided a plentiful supply of raw material.

Extension of the sales program

In 1936 , Tovarna meril began the production of spirit levels, an activity which to this day represents the company’s leading production line. After World War II, the enterprise extended its product range to encompass metal and plastic rules.

In 1972 , a new organisation called Slovenijales Tovarna meril Slovenj Gradec was created.

Leta 1990 nastane samostojno podjetje za izdelavo kovinskih meril in orodij.

The firm transformed to the status of joint-stock company - TOVARNA MERIL KOVINE D.D. and is today successfully continuing its production of the wide product program of high-quality measuring tools.

Obtaining a quality certificate

In 2000, we obtained the ISO 9001: 1994 quality certificate.

In 2003, the audit regarding ISO 9001: 2000 standard was done, so we proved business excellence and quality control of the entire business process.

In 2004, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the existence of the factory.

In 2012, we experienced a catastrophic flood, which we survived due to the exceptional belonging of all employees, external assistance from cooperatives, individuals, various organizations, the state and the immense understanding of our customers - business partners.

In 2014 we obtained the SQ certificate, SLOVENIAN QUALITY for spirit levels.

In 2018, we obtained a new version of the ISO 9001:2015 standard
